Straight stairlifts are designed for the user to be seated when in operation. Another option for those looking to purchase a straight stairlift would be a perch standing chairlift. This stairlift allows the user to stand up straight while using the stairlift.
One should never stand up straight when using a stairlift designed to be used when seated. This puts a lot of strain on the carriage frame and roller mechanism. Plus, there is no protective barrier frame cradle to hold onto when in operation see image below.
